Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), also known as “Cellulose Gum” is a cellulose derivative used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and other applications. It has many uses, including as a binder in tablets, as a thickening agent in creams and gels, and as a lubricant in eye drops.
